Ex-NFL coaches at peace in college

Four years ago when UCF's George O'Leary and Pittsburgh's Dave Wannstedt first met across a football field, they hardly knew each other. O'Leary was then an assistant with the Minnesota Vikings and Wannstedt was the Miami Dolphins' head coach.

O'Leary, who had earned his chops to that point in the college ranks, was tiptoeing back into coaching after his brief tenure with Notre Dame ended with a resume flap. And Wannstedt, in his third season in Miami, was just trying to tread water in his second tenure as an NFL head coach.
