ORLANDO - George O'Leary predicted a week ago that his 37 years of coaching would aid him in filling the University of Central Florida's void at defensive coordinator.
And fittingly O'Leary hired an old friend on Monday to breathe life into UCF's floundering defense.
O'Leary hired former Iowa State assistant John Skladany to be the Golden Knights' new defensive coordinator. Skladany, 59, coached at Iowa State for 10 years. He lost his job as defensive coordinator with the Cyclones when head coach Dan McCarney resigned following the season
