Speraw Field headlines North improvements

Somewhere up above, Alice Speraw knows her late husband is smiling.

The widow of the former North High School baseball coach wonders what he'd think of the improvements to the baseball field he once carved out with a tractor. The infield grass is entirely new. A sprinkler system has been installed. The area is beautifully landscaped with new dugouts.

Bud Speraw Field will be dedicated prior to the varsity baseball game between North and Harlan. Fans won't have to drive down a narrow dusty path or use the port-a-potties.
