Rompza picks UCF

Young guard A.J. Rompza gave an oral commitment to Central Florida on Friday.

''When I went on my unofficial visit, it really reminded me of Whitney Young,'' Rompza said. ''You could tell they were a close-knit team. They all liked to hang out together.''

Rompza is the senior leader of a talent-laden Dolphins team expected to be among the nation's elite this season.

He chose Central Florida over Northern Illinois, Kent State and California.
