George O'Leary is optimistic about his team's chances against Southern Miss.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - As a tough October stretch for UCF makes its final stop at Southern Mississippi tonight, Coach George O'Leary is still excited about the opportunities his team has left this season.

The Knights (4-3, 2-1 C-USA) are in a second-place tie with the Golden Eagles behind Conference USA East Division leader East Carolina with five games remaining.

A victory tonight would not only snap a two-game losing skid to Southern Miss (4-3, 3-1), but give the Knights any potential tiebreaker over the Eagles, who are the only conference team to beat ECU this year.
