Another upset bid falls short for UCF

NO. 18 KANSAS STATE 73, UCF 71, OT

The Knights rally to force overtime but miss their chance to beat a ranked team

It almost was a signature win.

The kind of win that can change a season and impress NCAA Tournament selection committees.

Instead, the UCF Knights had to settle for a moral victory.

The Knights (2-2) had No. 18 Kansas State (4-1) on the ropes but couldn't pull off the upset. The Wildcats escaped with a 73-71 win in overtime during the second round of the Old Spice Classic at Disney Friday night.

"To state the obvious, we're very disappointed," UCF guard Mike O'Donnell said.
