Smith's surge sends UCF to title game
He'd just scored the game's final touchdown Saturday and given his team all the points it would need to beat UTEP and reach next week's Conference USA Championship game.
But it wasn't until he reached the sideline and got a word from equipment manager Robert Jones that UCF junior tailback Kevin Smith finally revealed a smile brighter than the flashing 36-20 Bright House Networks Stadium scoreboard.
"I told you that you'd get it," Jones said as he gave a congratulatory slap to Smith's shoulder pads.
