UCF Knights set for national spotlight

UCF is hoping to use the Old Spice Classic to create buzz about its basketball program.

UCF Coach Kirk Speraw has never liked to think too far ahead about the future of his basketball team.

Last season when the Knights (2-0) posted a surprise second-place finish in Conference USA, Speraw shied away from all questions that dealt with how that one season could elevate his program.

He's also refused to do it this week, though it's hard to deny that UCF's invitation to compete in this weekend's Old Spice Classic at Disney Wide World of Sports might say something about how the Knights are inching up in the college hoops world.
