ORLANDO -- What was supposed to be a breakout season for UCF is slowly turning into a nightmare of years past.

The Golden Knights lost their third straight game Tuesday night -- their second straight at home -- by dropping a 19-14 Conference USA opener to Southern Mississippi at the Florida Citrus Bowl.

UCF (1-3, 0-1) is 0-9 all-time in games televised by ESPN or ESPN2. The Golden Eagles (3-1, 1-0) won their third straight after dropping their season opener at Florida.
