UCF held practice inside for the second consecutive day Friday to try to prepare for the artificial playing surface Wednesday at Conference USA East Division rival Marshall.

Golden Knights defensive coordinator Lance Thompson said Friday's workout went well overall, and that defensively the team is continuing to build on what was its best performance so far this season in Tuesday's loss to Southern Mississippi.

He said the emphasis is on players "doing their jobs right" and not so much on dramatic changes.
