ORLANDO - Only 98 miles separate the two campuses, but that might as well be 9,800 miles.

The dynamics between the University of Central Florida and the University of South Florida would suggest a pulsating, thriving football rivalry for years, even generations, to come.

The two schools have similar enrollments, their football teams have followed comparable paths and often they battle along the recruiting trail for the same athletes. Also, of course, there are those measly 98 miles along Interstate 4 between the two schools.
