RINCON - Nearly 10 years ago, football coaches at Effingham County High School were intrigued by an interesting specimen roaming the halls.

Paul Carrington was, at the time, a tall and lanky skateboarder with a penchant for mischief.
Football changed his life. A strong work ethic took him further.

After spending his first 18 years in Effingham County, including a stellar high school football career, Carrington spent the last five at the University of Central Florida.

This season, Carrington is a rookie defensive lineman for the Atlanta Falcons, and seen action in three of the Falcons' first four games.
