Myriad mistakes too much as Panthers embarrass UCF
It would have been nice to blame everything that went sour in UCF's humbling 52-7 loss to Pittsburgh on bad luck. Just a Murphy's Law kind of day that somehow couldn't have been avoided.
The only problem was that from the very first play of the game Friday night, it was clear to almost everyone in the announced crowd of 35,858 at the Florida Citrus Bowl that UCF's woes had nothing to do with simple bad luck.
The elation that was present more than a week ago after UCF's dramatic come-from-behind victory at Marshall was gone just minutes after the Knights' humiliating loss Friday.
Players moved like whispers in the locker room afterward, expressionless and with bowed heads.
