ORLANDO - The University of Central Florida broke out their new black jerseys, encouraged fans to wear black and dubbed Friday's nationally televised game against Pittsburgh as "The Blackout Bowl."
As it turns out, black was a fitting color for the Golden Knights. Black as in a funeral. Black as in an unlucky Friday, the 13th. Black as in a total power outage on both sides of the ball. Black as in black and blue after getting demolished by a clearly superior Pitt team.

A Citrus Bowl crowd of 35,858 repeatedly filled the air with boos Friday night as UCF was shredded defensively and fell apart time and again offensively in an embarrassing 52-7 defeat to Dave Wannstedt's surging Pitt Panthers.
