ECU 23- UCF 10: Pirates win despite sluggish offense

ORLANDO, Fla. — Even a lousy night of offense was enough for East Carolina to win on Saturday night at UCF, evidence the Pirates might be surging into Conference USA's upper echelon for good.
The Pirates' 23-10 victory inside the Citrus Bowl was not necessarily memorable for all its high drama or pretty plays, but like UCF's 30-20 win over ECU last season, it served a huge purpose for a team seeking its own chance at a C-USA title shot later this season.
Senior quarterback James Pinkney and wide receiver Aundrae Allison have been the men at the helm of most of the Pirates' offensive successes this season. At UCF, neither were the factors they normally are.
