Tigers, Central Florida trying to bounce back from skids

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Coach Tommy West and many of his Memphis Tigers aren't accustomed to dealing with losing and frustration this late in the season. Central Florida is having a similar problem.

Both teams went to bowl games last year with Memphis in the Motor City Bowl and Central Florida going to the Hawaii Bowl. But Memphis is on a seven-game slide this season, the school's longest in 20 years. Central Florida has lost four straight.

"There are a lot of folks in that locker room that haven't dealt with this," Memphis wide receiver Earnest Williams said. "I'm not going to lie, I'm taking this hard."

At least one team will feel better Saturday night as each tries to avoid the cellar of Conference USA's East Division.
