Knights, seniors finish year with win

After sloshing its way through most of its 2006 season, UCF walked into Saturday's season finale with only one goal: To try to breathe a hint of life into an otherwise forgettable year.

What they got was an ending that in a way framed how the Golden Knights' season has hung for the better part of this year: on the edge of disaster.

But fortunately for Knights fans, they didn't fall off. And no matter how the Knights arrived at their 31-22 victory against UAB, the important thing for a team now looking for its second turnaround in three years is that a little of the sour taste got washed away.
