O'Leary boils season down to four games

ORLANDO - In between the moments he's not racking his brain trying to find a solution for the University of Central Florida's woeful defense, head coach George O'Leary is usually preaching to his team that this season isn't a lost cause just yet.

Assuredly, a season that UCF had hoped would be a second consecutive special one has instead been an utter disappointment so far. But even at 2-6 overall and 1-3 in Conference USA play, the Golden Knights can still accomplish many of their goals by winning out the rest of the season.

"I showed them the schedule and I showed them the standings," O'Leary said. "We are in a four-game season. You win four games, you could basically have a piece of the conference, the way our conference is in the East Division. Everybody has to play everybody and they have to knock each other off.
