When UCF was preparing to play its ninth game last season, the Conference USA East Division crown was within its grasp.A year later, there hasn't been anything for UCF to celebrate the past few weeks. The Golden Knights find themselves welcoming East Carolina today for homecoming in a game UCF must win if it has any hopes of adding cheer to its bad season. UCF, in the midst of its second three-game losing streak of the season, must win out if it wants to become bowl-eligible.

While he said homecoming would mean more at an on-campus venue, UCF Coach George O'Leary said he has been preaching whatever positives he could this week.
