ORLANDO - Chris Welsh knows that at some point today, the final time he runs onto the Citrus Bowl field or during his final fourth quarter, it will hit him that his career as a University of Central Florida football player is ending.

Welsh, the senior from Cocoa who has started 37 of the Golden Knights' past 38 games at defensive end, will leave with more than a touch of sorrow. Also, there are deep pangs of regret over how a season of so many high hopes soured so quickly.

"In that fourth quarter and the clock is ticking down, and hopefully we're winning, I'm sure it will all hit me," Welsh said. "For me it's all happening at once. I'm graduating in two weeks, it's UCF's last game in the Citrus Bowl and this is the end of the season.
