O'Leary, Knights enter important offseason

Some improvement is crucial for a coach who is 12-24 in 3 seasons at the school.
Sitting in his office recently, UCF Coach George O'Leary was reviewing tape of his team's season-ending victory over UAB and affirming in his mind what he was certain was an illegal formation by the Blazers to open the game.
For O'Leary, it's always about the details, even in the offseason. And as the Knights head into a pivotal offseason -- one that will end with a new on-campus stadium -- O'Leary isn't waiting to fix his house.
Though they may seem similar, O'Leary said this offseason doesn't feel the same as the one after the 0-11 campaign in 2004.
"I think it's a lot different in that it's nice to start off a [new] season after a win," O'Leary said. "I think it's great for the kids coming back. We've got 64 of them back, and they head into the offseason with a good taste about ending with a victory."
