With facilities in place, Central Florida must produce on the field, coach George O'Leary told Florida sports writers.

TAMPA -- All the external symbols toll anticipation of a new football era at Central Florida.

A modified nickname -- the Knights are no longer Golden, though the color scheme remains intact. New logos. And a 45,000-seat stadium that is the campus crown jewel.

But grizzled coach George O'Leary points out it's all window dressing without the main ingredient.

''It still comes down to winning,'' O'Leary said as the annual Florida Sports Writers Association gathering of the state's college coaches got underway Saturday.
