The Knights' C-USA brethren applaud the on-campus facility set to open Sept. 15.
NEW ORLEANS - Rave reviews flowed in among UCF's Conference USA brethren Tuesday regarding the opening of the Knights' 45,000-seat, on-campus stadium.
The Knights, who have called the Citrus Bowl home since the program's inception, will play their first game on campus Sept. 15 against Texas.Commissioner Britton Banowsky said the new stadium is another testament to the commitment C-USA teams are showing across the board.
"It's about laying a foundation and commitment to success, and they are definitely doing that with this stadium," Banowsky said. "A brand-new stadium, on-campus, they will be able to elevate the program. It's those kinds of things that help all 12 programs within the conference to start to move in one direction."
