UCF's interests guided Banowsky

Conference USA Commissioner Britton Banowsky said Tuesday he was looking out for UCF when he backed off making USF play a Conference USA opponent in 2009 as part of their exit agreement.
"It wasn't a decision as much as we only had a commitment for five games and UCF would have had to play one game at USF without a return," he said at C-USA Media Day in New Orleans. "So they played a four-game series that was balanced in a way.
"We thought that if we asked UCF to play one game on the road without a return, what value was that to UCF?"
