ORLANDO, Fla. — One year removed from an East Division crown in Conference USA, the Golden Knights from the University of Central Florida struggled through an up and down year where they fell short in close games the team was apt to winning the previous season. The Golden Knights were only 13 points away from turning a 4-8 regular season into a 7-5 record.

Despite winning just 12 games during his first three seasons as head coach, George O’Leary has been recognized for his efforts on the construction of an on-campus football stadium.
