Big victory renews UCF's hopes

The Knights get their first takeaways since the Texas game and end a 2-game slide.

For most of the week leading up to UCF's pivotal Conference USA showdown with Tulsa Saturday, there was a sort of uneasiness surrounding the Knights' football team: the kind of nervousness a waiter has when he is trying to balance an armful of dishes.

Two days after UCF's 44-23 win over the Golden Hurricane, that tension hasn't evaporated, but it isn't all anxiety as the Knights (4-3, 2-1 C-USA) begin preparations for an equally important matchup with East Division rival Southern Mississippi this Sunday.

A week after limping into the locker room beaten and bruised by rival South Florida, UCF responded with its most complete effort of the season.
