ORLANDO, Fla. -- All but four of Central Florida running back Kevin Smith's rushing plays went for less than 10 yards Saturday against the Golden Hurricane.

Tulsa defenders loaded the box against the nation's third-leading rusher. At times, it seemed they did a good job. Eight times, Smith was tackled for no gain or negative yardage.

But that's what great backs do. They get what they can get and they wait; they bide their time.

TU still had a chance until Smith bounced outside and went 44 yards for a score early in the fourth quarter, giving the Knights a 38-17 lead.
