UCF's defense forces 4 turnovers, including 3 interceptions thrown by QB Stephen Reaves.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss knew it didn't deserve to win Sunday night's game against UCF, not after the Knights took it to the Golden Eagles 34-17 in an important Conference USA football game at M.M. Roberts Stadium.

Southern Miss, which committed no turnovers last week in a 33-24 win over Marshall, made four against UCF.

Combined with an efficient UCF offense, the Knights were the better team.

"They were ready for us," Southern Miss quarterback Stephen Reaves said. "We knew they had a good defense, and we knew what they were going to do. They have a good secondary, their front four got after me a little bit. They played hard as a group the whole game."
