Hitt hospitalized after heart attack
University of Central Florida President John Hitt suffered a heart attack Saturday night while riding his bicycle on campus and was rushed to Florida Hospital Orlando.
Hitt, 65, was in stable condition and was being treated for a blocked artery near his heart, UCF spokesman Tom Evelyn said.
"We're very optimistic, but it is something that we'll have to watch through the night," Evelyn said. "The early prognosis is very good."
Until Hitt is well enough to return to work, Evelyn said, university Provost Terry Hickey will be acting president. Hitt is expected to be hospitalized for five days. Click on President Hitt to read more of the article. (OrlandoSentinel)
You are in my prayers Mr Hitt. May you have a healthy and speedy recovery.
