GREENVILLE, N.C. - Skip Holtz is hoping East Carolina can avoid a letdown.

The Pirates (4-4, 3-2 Conference USA) are feeling pretty good about themselves after they beat longtime nemesis Southern Mississippi for just the second time in 11 meetings and have climbed into the mix in the Eastern Division.

Next up for East Carolina - a meeting with the defending division champion, Central Florida.

"We just have to stay focused on our task at hand right now," Holtz said. "I used it as a battle cry last week and I'll use it as one now - this football team needs to stay humble and hungry. By staying humble and hungry it helps us keep last week's success in perspective."
