Pitt offense strong challenge for UCF

On one hand, UCF's defense began practice this week riding high after finally making some plays down the stretch to help the Golden Knights steal a pivotal 23-22 Conference USA road victory against Marshall.
But just a quick glance at the still glaring missed tackles on film and at the 366 total yards it gave up to a less than explosive Thundering Herd squad means it still has a lot of work to do.
True, what happens in the Knights' next game doesn't have the implications that last week's conference showdown had. But Friday's non-conference matchup against offensively potent Pittsburgh (5-1) will be a nice gauge for UCF with yet another road test against Houston the following week.
