Smith's production good news for UCF

The 2005 Conference USA Freshman of the Year has 628 rushing yards through 6 games.

After a slow start to the season, UCF sophomore tailback Kevin Smith has found a groove.

He is one of the few bright spots on a Golden Knights squad that hasn't had a lot to smile about this year.

Smith has rushed for 520 yards in the past four games, including a 166-yard game against Marshall on Oct. 4 and 155 yards against Rice last Saturday.

His production is going to be crucial if UCF is to pull off the upset Saturday at Houston. The Golden Knights need to control the clock and keep Houston's offense off the field.
