Coming into 2006, the offensive line was one of the more experienced and close-knit groups the University of Central Florida has ever had.
Playing time for newcomers, such as Jeramy DeVane, appeared to be a far-fetched notion.
Knights coach George O'Leary, however, had shown in the past he wasn't afraid to play true freshmen, especially ones that busted their tails in conditioning and on the practice field. DeVane fit the bill in those situations and more, prompting O'Leary to insert the former Seabreeze High standout into the starting lineup for the final three games.
