Reserve sophomore QB plans to transfer
UCF sophomore quarterback Marquel Neasman has decided to leave the football program, Coach George O'Leary said Tuesday.
Neasman, a 2005 signee who redshirted as a freshman and didn't see any game action in 2006, entered fall camp as the Knights' No. 2 quarterback behind starter Kyle Israel.
Recruited because of his athleticism and speed, Neasman -- a high school standout at Bradenton Southeast -- maintained his spot on the depth chart through the first week of camp but fell to the third team at the beginning of this week behind true freshman Joe Weatherford.
