ORLANDO -- Forget about any kind of a letdown. UCF is back on track.
The Knights (2-1, 1-0), who suffered an emotional three-point loss to No. 6 Texas last week, removed any doubt of their resolve in the first half Saturday against Memphis (1-2, 0-1). They scored 42 unanswered points en route to a 56-20 pasting of the Tigers in the Conference USA opener for both teams.
The Knights put on an offensive showcase behind the running of Kevin Smith against a Memphis defense ranked No. 1 in C-USA coming in. Smith ran for 117 yards and scored three touchdowns in the first half and finished with 124 yards.
