In one weekend, UCF will open its new stadium, UF will host Tennessee and FSU will travel far away.

GAINESVILLE - A new football stadium opens on the east side of Orlando. A familiar rival comes to visit the Florida Gators' Swamp. And Florida State continues a season only a travel agent could love with its longest non-bowl road trip since 2002.

The first big day of local college football provides a rare confluence of intriguing games for UCF, UF and FSU. And the highlight comes at Bright House Networks Stadium, which the Knights (1-0) christen as their home by hosting No. 6 Texas at 3:30 p.m.

The game's lead-up should provide UCF with one of the more exciting weeks in school history. Coach George O'Leary tried to downplay the hype but couldn't hide the game's importance.
