UCF can take control in C-USA East chase

GREENVILLE, N.C. - While the ending of any season schedule is important, sometimes the games that dictate conference championships for teams don't come at the bottom of the sheet.

Tonight's Conference USA East Division matchup between UCF (3-1, 1-0) and East Carolina (2-3, 1-1) was already one to circle in the preseason. But after division favorite Southern Mississippi's stunning 31-29 loss to Rice Wednesday, the prize for tonight's winner has definitely gotten shinier.

The survivor of tonight's game will be in the early pole position in the East Division race. A win also would be a huge confidence booster to the Knights' hopes of returning to the C-USA title game, especially with a road trip to Southern Miss looming later this month.
