TAMPA – Two weeks ago the University of South Florida was able to shut down West Virginia and the nation's No. 2 rushing attack. On Saturday, the Bulls get tested by the nation's No. 1 rusher in UCF's Kevin Smith.
"He's good," USF coach Jim Leavitt said. "I don't think you can stop him, he'll get his yards. He's a good player."
Smith averages 172 yards a game. He was suspended for last year's USF-UCF game. As a freshman against USF, he had two carries for no yards.
Leavitt said his fifth-ranked Bulls (5-0) are expecting a tough challenge from University of Central Florida (3-2).
"You can throw the record books out," Leavitt said.
