O'Leary says UCF must forget about bad start

ORLANDO - Kevin Smith is a running back, not a philosopher. But in a matter of just a few words, he summed up the kind of mentality the University of Central Florida must have to avoid letting its season totally wash into the abyss.

"If you think you're dying, then you're already dead," Smith said.

At a disappointing 2-4 and coming off its worst beat-down of the season, UCF is certainly at a crossroads. But in all actuality, the Golden Knights are still in a position to salvage their season and repeat last year's historic run to the Conference USA title game and a first-ever bowl.
