TB Kevin Smith leads his team to 37-19 win

It should have been one of the loudest moments that UCF's Bright House Networks Stadium had seen in its three-week-old life.

But as UCF junior tailback Kevin Smith lay awkward and hurt on the field late in the Knights 37-19 win over Louisiana-Lafayette Saturday, the cheers that had ruled most of the day were replaced with the kind of silence usually reserved for church pews.

His team leading 37-19 early in the fourth quarter and grinding toward its third win of the season, Smith took his 33rd handoff of the night and burst through a hole on the right side.
