The undisputed, most recognizable and well-known king of UCF is quarterback Daunte Culpepper.

Or maybe we should call him Poseidon, given his penchant for boats. But more on that later.

UCF outsmarted everyone in getting Culpepper to come to what at the time was a I-AA program. Every major program in the country was interested in him but it was questionable if he would qualify.
