UCF was in full pads for the first time during fall camp Monday in a two-hour morning session.
Though Coach George O'Leary has been anticipating seeing the team in full gear, he said afterward that the team was a bit too sluggish and described them as "lethargic." He tried to spice things up a big by mixing in the Oklahoma drill, but there was still some energy missing, he said.
"There was some decent team play and stuff, but for the most part there were too many guys sitting and watching instead of reacting," O'Leary said. "That usually takes place the first day -- especially with a lot of young kids that have to learn to play with pads on."
