When former UCF receiver Brandon Marshall left for the NFL's Denver Broncos following the 2005 season, it definitely left a void in the Knights offense. But the blow was lessened with a play-making machine in Mike Walker coming back to play his senior season.
When former UCF receiver Brandon Marshall left for the NFL's Denver Broncos following the 2005 season, it definitely left a void in the Knights offense. But the blow was lessened with a play-making machine in Mike Walker coming back to play his senior season.
Not only did Walker have a capable pair of hands, but many felt Walker was in some ways a more talented receiver than his predecessor.
But while a year later, Walker -- now of the Jacksonville Jaguars -- proved to be every bit the Marshall-clone, it has left the kind of hole in the Knights' receiving corps that they haven't had to confront in at least five seasons.
