UCF had a one-point lead over Texas early in the 4 th quarter, but couldn't hold off the No. 6 Longhorns.
Both Texas and UCF quarterbacks took a knee in the final play of the game.
Colt McCoy kneeled on the field to signal the Longhorns victory. Kyle Israel propped one knee on a sideline chair and stared toward the south end zone of his team's field.
He did not break his gaze for several minutes. It seemed painful to watch the final Texas drive. Not when the Knights held a one-point lead early in the fourth quarter and had several chances to win the biggest game in school history.
