UCF's defense operated in spurts in Saturday afternoon's 35-32 loss to No. 6 Texas.

"I thought our defense was sporadic," UCF Coach George O'Leary said.

The Knights had trouble holding onto some slippery Texas players, including quarterback Colt McCoy who threw for 259 yards and rushed for 40 yards. The Knights allowed 488 yards of total offense -- that's 131 more yards than UCF gave up against North Carolina State.
