Homeland Security job may be in future for Cocoa High graduate
Chris Welsh's college football career came to an end one year earlier than he would have liked. The former Cocoa High standout never had an opportunity to play a single game in the new stadium located on the University of Central Florida campus.
"There's certainly some mixed emotions," said Welsh, who was the Knights' defensive captain last season during his senior year. "I wish that I had an opportunity to play in that stadium during my tenure at UCF. I had an opportunity to go to that first home game against the University of Texas. Playing in that game would have been an amazing experience."
The future probably still holds some different experiences for Welsh -- if all goes according to plan. Welsh, who will turn 24 in December, is going through the application process with the U.S. government to obtain a job in Homeland Security.
