Future of game with USF still remains unresolved

One thing is sure, though: Since the series began, both schools have enjoyed booms in attendance.

As the clock ticks toward Saturday's meeting between No. 5 USF and UCF, so too will the clock be winding down on a promising rivalry.

The four-game contract between the schools ends after the 2008 game in Orlando.

Part of the deal allowing USF to leave Conference USA in favor of the Big East was an agreement that the school will play one C-USA team every year through 2009. Now that the league has backed off, there is no guarantee the game will continue beyond next year.
