UCF eyes 9-3 finish this season

Kevin Smith sat nodding his head as he said it, as if the rhythm of the words was being played over an internal soundtrack inside his thoughts.

The question was innocent enough, pondering whether the cadence of being bowl-eligible was resonating throughout UCF's locker room following its 47-13 win over Marshall Saturday.

"Bowl-eligible, bowl-eligible, bowl-eligible," Smith said with a smirk. "Can you hear it?"

The Knights' fan base certainly can. Three weeks after being embarrassed by rival USF, that same group is now preparing to clear calendar space for the school's second bowl trip.
