Smith's focus remains on team's success

ORLANDO -- Every once in a while, UCF tailback Kevin Smith will pick up a pre-season college football magazine and glance through it.

Most have good things to say about him, which makes him break into a smile. The smile is only fleeting, however, when he sees the mediocre predictions about his team's record or where it will end up in Conference USA.

The junior from Miami isn't into personal glory right now. It's all about winning football games and getting to a bowl game, especially after what happened last season. The Knights, who won the East Division of C-USA and went to the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl in 2005, finished a disappointing 4-8 in 2006.
