RALEIGH, N.C. - When UCF's 2007 schedule came out this summer, back-to-back games against N.C. State and Texas seemed like a formula for disaster coming out of a disappointing 4-8 campaign in 2006.
The Knights hadn't beaten a BCS-league opponent since 2000 and never in Coach George O'Leary's three-year tenure. But following the Knights' 25-23 road upset of the Wolfpack Saturday, suddenly the improbable doesn't seem so far fetched as UCF prepares to host powerhouse and 2005 national champion Texas on Sept. 15.
"Oh yeah, momentum is high," O'Leary said. "It's our opening game [at the on-campus Bright House Networks Stadium], we've got a week off to mend up and make some corrections. But we have a lot of things to correct."
